Origin and history

The buildings at Nos. 2, 4 and 6 of Rue Grétry, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, date from the last quarter of the 18th century. They were built on the site of the former hotel in Choiseul, a historic building that has now disappeared. This subdivision illustrates the urban planning of Paris at the end of the Ancien Régime, marked by the transformation of private hotels into collective dwellings.

The facades and roofs of these buildings, overlooking the street, were inscribed in the Historical Monuments by order of 11 August 1975. This protection reflects their heritage value, linked to their architecture typical of the pre-revolutionary period. Their exact location, although documented (GPS coordinates and Mérimée address), is considered fair accuracy (note 5/10) according to the databases.

No information is available on their current use (visit, rental, etc.) or on any interior developments. Sources are limited to Monumentum data and Merimée archives, without details of the owners or architects who worked on their construction.
