Origin and history

The church of Perigneux is a religious building built in the 16th century, located in the commune of Perigneux, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This monument, whose location is estimated as "a priori satisfactory", has been included in the inventory of Historical Monuments since December 29, 1949. Today it belongs to the commune and retains a central place in the local heritage.

In the 16th century, churches in this region played a major role in community life, serving as a place of worship, assembly and identity marker for villages. In a rural context marked by agriculture and crafts, these buildings often reflected the architectural influences of the Renaissance, while remaining rooted in local traditions. Their preservation reflects the importance attached to religious heritage in these territories.
