Church: ranking by list of 1862
Origin and history
Notre-Dame de Herment Church is a former collegiate church located in the village of the same name in the department of Puy-de-Dôme. Ranked a historical monument in 1862, it bears witness to a medieval religious heritage preserved in Auvergne. Its architecture, including its west gate and bedside, reflects the stylistic features of Christian buildings in this region.
Protected elements include the entire building, including the major apse and apsidioles, which illustrate the historical and artistic significance of this place of worship. Although the precise details of its construction and evolution remain partially documented, its collegiate status suggests a central role in local religious and community life. Today, it remains a symbol of the architectural and spiritual heritage of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
