Origin and history

The church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens de Villarlong is a religious monument located in the municipality of Villarzel-Cabardès in the Occitan region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or the circumstances of its foundation. His name, "Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens", traditionally evokes a dedication to Saint Peter, an apostle whose festival of chains (1 August) is celebrated in several churches in France.
