Origin and history

The church of the Jacobins of Port-Sainte-Marie is a religious monument located in the commune of the same name, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Although its name evokes the Dominican order (the Jacobins), there is no precise information to date its construction or to trace its detailed history from available sources. Medieval or post-medieval churches, like this one, often played a central role in the lives of local communities.
