Chapelle Lejeune: inscription by order of 23 February 1951

Origin and history

The Lejeune Chapel is a monument located in the commune of Féron, in the department of the North, in the Hauts-de-France region. This place, inscribed under the title of Historical Monuments by decree of 23 February 1951, is today the property of the commune. Although its location is approximate, with a priori satisfactory accuracy, it remains a point of local interest.

In the Hauts-de-France, chapels like this often played a central role in community life, serving as places of worship, assembly or commemoration. Their architecture and presence generally reflected the importance of religion in the social and cultural organization of villages and small towns in the region, especially in the twentieth century, when many religious buildings were protected for their heritage value.
