Origin and history
The Logis de la Jatterie, located in Connerré in the Pays de la Loire, is a mansion built in 1779. This monument illustrates the residential architecture of the late eighteenth century, with decorative and landscape elements typical of the era. The garden and the charmille, built in 1786, complete this ensemble, while the panoramic wallpapers (1810-1815) represent the Ports de France, a rare testimony of decorative art of the early nineteenth century.
Filed by order of 8 July 1996, the house is protected for its interior decorations (painted papers and murals), its porch, its dovecote, as well as its garden and its charmilles. These elements reflect the refinement of bourgeois homes of the period, mixing neoclassical influences and aesthetic concerns related to nature. The exact address, 18 Chemin de la Herse, confirms its anchoring in the territory of Connerré, in the department of Sarthe.
Available sources, including Monumentum and Merimée data, highlight the heritage value of the site, while indicating a geolocation with a priori satisfactory accuracy (note 6/10). Although the practical information (visits, accommodation) is not detailed, the inscription under the Historical Monuments guarantees its preservation and its interest in local and regional history.
