Origin and history

The Logis du Fief Mignoux is a historical monument located in Saint-Maurice-des-Noues, in the department of Vendée (Pays de la Loire). Built between 1570 and 1580, this Renaissance-style house is built around a closed courtyard, typical of the seigneurial residences of the time. Its architecture reflects the influences of the late 16th century, with attenuated defensive elements in favor of increasing residential comfort.

The carpentry of the house was modified in the late eighteenth century, marking an adaptation to the tastes and needs of this period. Among the remarkable elements, the stairwell of the master house was classified by decree of 16 December 1996, emphasizing its heritage importance. The building, although partially transformed, retains traces of its original organization.

The Logis du Fief Migoux is part of a rural context in which seigneurial houses played a central role in social and economic organization. In the Renaissance, these houses were often the headquarters of farms and local authorities, while embodying the prestige of their owners. Their architecture blended medieval tradition and modern innovations.

Today, the monument is located with an accuracy deemed "very satisfactory" (note 8/10), and its exact address is listed in the Merimée base. Although the information on its access (visits, rental, accommodation) is not specified, its registration as a Historical Monument makes it a protected witness to the heritage of the Vendee.
