Origin and history
The home of the Fleuriaie is a 17th century mansion located in Aviré, in the department of Maine-et-Loire. This monument, inscribed in the Historical Monuments in 1997, consists of a house body framed by two croup buildings, with a central staircase pavilion. The southern facade, the most remarkable, dates from an enlargement around 1660, as indicated by the western skylight bearing that date. The raised ground floor, the ionic pilasters of the entrance and the tufted modillons highlight its classic rural style.
Inside, the oak vestibule carved in diamond tips and the original huisseries testify to its past prestige. The commons include a bakery, a horse stable (17th century), as well as a cow stable with henhouse and pig roof, added in the 18th century. The barn, built in the 19th century, has a traditional gable in wooden strips. Initially a secondary seigneurial residence, the estate became an agricultural holding in the 18th century.
The building reflects the evolution of rural uses in Anjou, moving from a noble residence to a functional agricultural complex. The protected elements (logis and commons) were inscribed by order of 12 February 1997, highlighting their heritage value. Local materials, such as tuffeau, and traditional constructive techniques (bumpers, pediments) characterize this emblematic manor house with an angeline heritage.
