Magnin House (cad. 1449): by order of 7 August 1941

Origin and history

The house Magnin is a medieval house located in the village of Peruges, in the department of Ain, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Built in the 15th century, it is a typical example of the civil architecture of this period in the region. Its classification as a historical monument in 1941 reflects its heritage importance and preservation.

The village of Peruges, known for its medieval heritage, was at that time a place of life animated by artisanal and commercial activities. Houses such as the Magnin were used both as a dwelling and sometimes as a workplace for local families. Their construction reflected the techniques and materials available, while meeting the needs of the community.

According to available sources, Magnin House is now owned by an association. It is located on Rue du Four, an emblematic street of the village. Its official classification in 1941 allowed to protect its architectural elements, thus ensuring its transmission to future generations.
