Origin and history
The corner house, located 11 Place Jean-Moulin in Beaumont-du-Périgord, is an emblematic monument to the village's central square. Rebuilt in the 17th or 18th century, it retains traces of vaulting behind a curved arch opening onto the square. These architectural elements suggest an older structure, although the details of its initial construction remain unclear.
During the 19th century, the house was ravaged by a fire, requiring partial reconstruction. The archives mention a receipt of works for a covered contract, dated April 28, 1925, signed by architect Prodottier. This document attests to a functional transformation of the building, probably integrating commercial or public spaces.
The façade on the square and the corresponding roof, with its characteristic angles, were inscribed in the Historical Monuments by order of 17 May 1952. Today, the building belongs to the commune of Beaumont-du-Périgord. Its current use (visit, rental, accommodation) is not specified in the available sources, but its historical role in the animation of the central square remains marked by its architecture and successive transformations.
