Façades: registration by order of 12 December 1936

Origin and history

The house located at 15 rue de Mougins-Roquefort in Grasse is a 12th-century building classified as a Historical Monument. Its facades were inscribed by ministerial decree on December 12, 1936, emphasizing its heritage importance. Although its exact location is approximate (precision note: 5/10), it remains a rare example of medieval civil architecture preserved in the region.

Grasse, the emblematic city of Provence-Alpes-Côte d的Azur, was in the 12th century a developing village, marked by agricultural, artisanal activities and an emerging trade linked to Mediterranean roads. The houses of that time served both as a dwelling, a workshop and sometimes a storage place, reflecting a social organization where the building played a central role in community life. This type of monument thus illustrates the daily life of Provençal people in the Middle Ages, in a context where urban planning began to structure itself around roads and public squares.
