Origin and history

The house in Dijon, in the Gagnereaux impasse, is a rectangular building built in the early twentieth century, before 1914. It consists of four levels: a ground floor with a walled porch, two floors, and an additional floor. The porch, covered with a vaulted arch, is decorated with religious frescoes made in 1914 by the painter Marius Lucini. These works include a Virgin with the Child, saints and evangelists, adding an artistic and spiritual dimension to the building.

The house has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2002, with a protection covering its facades, roofs, wrought iron gate, as well as the porch and its wall paintings. Its architecture, combining urban functionality and sacred decoration, reflects the stylistic influences of the time, while being part of the historical fabric of Dijon. The impasse in which it is located, as well as its backward structure, make it an atypical example of the Burgundy habitat of the early twentieth century.

The protected elements also include the first flight of the staircase, highlighting the heritage importance of the ensemble. Although its current use (visit, rental, or other) is not specified in the sources, its inscription in the title of Historical Monuments makes it a notable architectural and artistic testimony of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region.
