Facades and roofs (Case B 567): inscription by decree of 4 December 1961

Origin and history

This house, located at 10 rue de la Corderie in Dinan (Côtes-d'Armor), is a monument listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments since December 4, 1961. Only its facades and roofs, referenced under Cadastre B 567, enjoy this protection, highlighting their heritage value in the historic centre of the city. The accuracy of its location remains poor (note of 5/10), perhaps reflecting uncertainties about its exact location or geographic boundaries.

Dinan, a medieval town in Brittany, preserves a rich building dating mainly from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Wood and stone houses, such as this one, often illustrated the social status of their owners – artisans, merchants or local notables. Their preservation allows us to study the urban evolution and the construction techniques of the period, in an area marked by its commercial and harbour dynamism in the 15th and 16th centuries.
