Façade sur rue et Roof: inscription by decree of 12 October 1932
Origin and history
The 1666 house, located in Rochefort-en-Terre, is an example of civil architecture from the 3rd quarter of the 17th century. It is distinguished by a symmetrical façade, a raised ground floor with two rectangular cross-sections and a central door in basket handle. Bright consoles adorn the first floor, while a window combined with an anime top-floor skylight. Pilasters, mouldings and pediment complete this harmonious ensemble.
Classified as a Historic Monument, this house saw its facade on street and roof protected by a decree of 12 October 1932. Its style reflects the architectural influences of Brittany of the time, where bourgeois or urban houses adopted neat decorations, showing some local prosperity. The accuracy of its location remains approximate, with an address suggested at 7 Rue du Porche.
The building, although protected, does not have precise information about its current use (visit, rental, accommodation). Its inscription in the title of Historic Monuments underlines its heritage importance, linked to the conservation of the facades and roofs characteristic of the 17th century Breton.
