Origin and history
The House of Concurés is an emblematic building located in the municipality of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, Saône-et-Loire. This monument is distinguished by its architecture, including its turret and adjacent windows, which led to its classification as historical monuments on 12 January 1921. These protected elements testify to an architectural heritage preserved in this region of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
Saint-Gengoux-le-National, like many localities in the region, developed around civil and religious buildings that structured community life. Bourgeois or notable houses, such as the house of the Concurés, often reflected the social status of their owners and served as places of residence or commercial activities. Their preservation now allows us to understand the urban and architectural evolution of these rural territories over the centuries.
