Origin and history

The house at 14 rue des Consuls in Sarlat-la-Canéda is a 17th century building, originally linked to the Labrousse family hotel. According to the archives, it was to form an architectural complex with the neighbouring building (n°12), thus constituting an emblematic mansion of the city.

Classified as a Historical Monument by order of 6 June 1962, this house is protected for its facades and roofs (cadastral reference H 856p). Its location, in the historical heart of Sarlat, reflects the importance of this type of dwelling for the bourgeois or local aristocratic families at that time.

The precise location, although noted as "passable" (level 5/10), corresponds to the official address recorded in the Merimée database. The building is associated with Insee 24520, confirming its anchoring in the Dordogne department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. No information is available on its current access (visit, rental, etc.).
