The house in Sarlat-la-Canéda is a historic monument dating from the 16th century. Its facade, particularly well preserved, illustrates the civil architecture of this period. With the exception of a modified window on the ground floor, it retained its original appearance, with a broken arched door and two floors pierced with stud windows with a chamfered profile. The projecting roof, supported by small wooden consoles, is a characteristic element of this construction.

Classified as a Historic Monument, this house saw its facade and roof protected by a registration order dated May 2, 1944. This type of building reflects the know-how of local 16th century artisans, as well as the construction techniques in vogue in the region. The precise location at 6 rue du Siege makes it possible to situate this heritage in the historic heart of Sarlat-la-Canéda, a city known for its rich medieval heritage.

The house, although protected, does not have detailed information about its original use or possible owners. However, its architecture suggests that it could belong to an affluent family or a prosperous craftsman of the time. The meneau windows and the broken arch door are markers of a high social status, typical of bourgeois or merchant houses of the Renaissance in Périgord.
