Origin and history

The Pradon House, located in Pionsat in Puy-de-Dôme, is one of the oldest and most notable houses in the city. Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, it bears witness to the civil architecture of this period, with an engraved date (1735) on the entrance gate of its facade on street. Its interior preserves remarkable decorative elements, including a marble fireplace topped by a copper plate heater, as well as two other 18th-century Volvic stone fireplaces, decorated with plant motifs.

Listed as a Historical Monument by order of 21 June 1999, the Pradon House includes in its protection the living room, dining room, library and a room with a stone fireplace of Volvic. These elements reflect the refinement of the bourgeois interiors of the time, combining functionality and aesthetics. The official address, 17 Great Street, and its approximate location, 1 Old Street, confirm its anchoring in the historic center of Pionsat.

The location of the Pradon House is considered "satisfactory" (note 7/10), and its documentation comes mainly from the Merimée base and Monumentum. Although practical information on visits or services (guest rooms, rental) is not specified, its status as a Historic Monument makes it a local heritage accessible to study and cultural enhancement.
