Houses (two): registration by order of 26 May 1941
Origin and history
The two houses in Thizy-les-Bourgs, in the Rhône department, constitute a historic monument inscribed by ministerial decree. Their precise location, at 1-2 rue Porte-Jacquot and 20-22 rue du Château, is attested in the Mérimée base. These buildings, although their exact construction period is not mentioned, were recognized for their heritage value as early as 1941, when they were protected by the French State.
Thizy-les-Bourgs, a commune in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is part of a territory marked by an urban and artisanal history. Old houses, like these, often bear witness to local civil architecture and the social organization of medieval or modern towns. Their preservation allows to evoke the living environment of the inhabitants, the economic activities (trade, crafts) and the role of the central streets in the structuring of the cities.
These buildings, although little documented here, contribute to the collective memory and regional built heritage.
