Origin and history

Bulcy Manor House is a building located in the commune of Bulcy, in the Nièvre department, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. Built in the 16th and 17th centuries, it is distinguished by a facade decorated with two levels of wooden galleries resting on stone pillars. This monument has been partially listed as historical monuments since 1976, especially for its facades, roofs and dovecote.

The mansion was built by a member of the family of La Vigne, a local lineage whose influence marked the history of this territory. Subsequent modifications or restorations, particularly in the 20th century, may have altered certain aspects of its original structure, but the protected elements retain their historical character. The precise address, 8 aisle of the Grange-à-Dîme, allows to locate this heritage in a rural setting typical of the Nièvre.

Ranked as a historical monument by decree of 15 July 1976, the Bulcy mansion illustrates the noble residential architecture of the Renaissance and modern times. Its dovecote, emblematic of seigneurial domains, bears witness to its past status. Today, although practical information on its visit or current use is lacking, its registration guarantees the preservation of this heritage for future generations.
