Origin and history

The mansion of La Mure, located in Saint-Jean-Saint-Maurice-sur-Loire in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, dates from the 3rd quarter of the 16th century. This partially protected monument illustrates the late Renaissance civil architecture in the Loire. Its north and east facades, as well as interior elements such as the tower of the large staircase and a fireplace, testify to its historical and aesthetic importance.

Ranked as a Historic Monument by decree of 17 May 1977, the mansion is now owned by the commune. The protections relate specifically to the facades, the corresponding roofs, the staircase turret, a small spiral staircase and an adorned fireplace. These architectural details reflect the know-how of the time and the social status of its former occupants.

The location of the mansion, although documented (10 Passage du Manoir de la Mure), remains approximate according to available sources, with an estimated accuracy of 6/10. No information is provided on its current accessibility, whether visitation, room rental or accommodation. The data comes mainly from the Merimée database and the Monumentum license.
