Origin and history
The Manor House of La Perquette is a 17th-century building located in the municipality of Bellengreville (Calvados, Normandy). Built in the first half of the 17th century, with a reference date of 1602, it embodies the architecture characteristic of the Kenyan region. Its facades, roofs, as well as interior elements such as the wrought iron ramp staircase and the walled living room, were inscribed in historical monuments by order of 6 June 1980. The dovecote and the old entrance gate are also protected elements.
The manor is distinguished by its stone construction of Caen, an emblematic material of the region. Its forebody adorned with doric pilasters and its egg-eye pediment, as well as the five fronton windows on the floor, reflect the local architectural style. Although its precise history and original owners are not detailed in the sources, its inscription bears witness to its heritage importance.
The precise location of the manor, at 5142 La Perquette, is referenced in the Merimée base, with a geographical accuracy deemed satisfactory. The site does not appear to be systematically open to the visit, but no information is available on any services such as guest rooms or room rentals.
