Origin and history
The manor house of the Touche-Brandineuf is a manor house located in Plouguenast (Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany), dating from the 16th century. It consists of a two-storey house body, with a main façade marked by a tower housing the staircase. The entrance door, in broken arch with archvolt with hooks, and the traces of a corbelled wooden coffer show its characteristic architecture. Inside, the large kitchen retains several fireplaces, one adjacent to a wall cabinet.
The manor house was listed as historic monuments by order of 30 March 1926, thereby recognizing its heritage value. Although the original project provided for a longer building, its current structure reflects the peculiarities of the Breton mansions of the Renaissance. Sources also mention a precise location: 33 La Touche Brandineuf, 22150 Plouguenast, in the department of Côtes-d-Armor.
The protected elements include the housing body and its dependencies (cadastre ZM 25, 26). The mansion illustrates the architectural evolution of the Breton genthommières, combining residual defensive elements (such as broken arch) and refined household amenities, typical of the 16th century. No information is available on its historic owners or its precise use beyond its seigneurial residence status.
