Origin and history
The Manor House of Sainte-Yverie, also known as the Manor House of Saint-Yverie, is a 16th-century residence in the commune of Tamerville in the Manche department of Normandy. This monument illustrates the civil architecture of the Norman Renaissance, with characteristic elements such as an extraordinary stair tower.
The manor house was partially registered as historic monuments by order of 30 December 1986. Only the eastern half of the building, including the stair tower, is protected, reflecting its heritage importance while leaving an unclassified part.
Located 2.8 kilometres north of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Tamerville, the mansion is part of a Normandy rural landscape. Its precise address, 8 Chemin de la Sainte-Yverie, is referenced in the Mérimée base, confirming its territorial anchoring in the commune.
The absence of detailed sources on its history or owners limits the knowledge of its exact role in local history. However, its inscription demonstrates its architectural value and its interest in understanding the Norman heritage of the modern era.
