Origin and history
Le Manoir du Bois-de-l'Humeau is a building located in the commune of Marcé, Maine-et-Loire, in the Pays de la Loire region. Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, this manor house is representative of the rural architecture of this period, marked by stone constructions and defensive or agricultural elements such as dovecotes.
The mansion was listed as a historic monument in 1979, a recognition that protects its facades, roofs, as well as those of the return wing and the dovecote. This protection reflects its heritage importance and the desire to preserve a significant example of the architectural heritage of Angelvin.
The location of the mansion, in the department of Maine-et-Loire, is part of a territory marked by rural and seigneurial history. In modern times, manor houses often served as residences for local noble or bourgeois families, while playing an economic role through the exploitation of surrounding lands. These buildings thus reflect the social and economic dynamics of their time.
