Origin and history

Kornevec's alignment, also known as Kernevec or Cornevec, is a remarkable megalithic site located in the Floranges State Forest in Camors, Morbihan. This monument consists of about fifty blocks of laminated granite from Lanvaux, aligned for a distance of 200 meters on a west/northeast axis. Only two menhirs remain upright today, the others having been overthrown or voluntarily debited. Their height varies between 1 and 3 meters, and their arrangement suggests an intentional organization typical of neolithic constructions.

The site was classified as historic monuments by an order of 28 August 1934, recognizing its heritage importance. Menhirs are located about 360 meters southeast of the hamlet of Lann-Vihan, in a preserved forest. Their presence bears witness to the cultural and religious practices of neolithic societies, which erected these stones for reasons that were still partly mysterious, but often linked to rituals or territorial markers.

Available sources, including Philippe Gouézin's work in Les megalithes du Morbihan interior (1994), highlight the importance of this site in the Breton megalithic landscape. Kornevec's alignment is part of a broader set of similar monuments in the region, reflecting an architectural and spiritual tradition shared by the neolithic communities of the time. The photogrammetric 3D reconstitution has enabled us to better visualize the original state of some menhirs, providing a valuable insight into their past appearance.
