Origin and history
The monument to General Desaix is a commemorative work located in Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region. It was erected in honour of General Louis Charles Antoine Desaix, a military figure of the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. This monument, classified as historical monuments since 1922, is precisely the Place du Maréchal-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny, formerly known as Place de la Bourse.
