Origin and history

The Musée de la 2 CV, also known as the Musée du Framont, is housed in an old forge located in Grandfontaine, on departmental road 392 linking Schirmeck to the Donon Pass. Created by Alsace Club 2 CV, this museum houses a collection of 2 CVs and their derivatives, as well as a reserve of mechanical parts for collectors. Its strategic location, between two emblematic communes of the Vosges, makes it a stage for car enthusiasts.

Among the exhibits, some are particularly unusual, like a firefighter car based on a 2 CV, formerly in service in Bettendorf. The museum also presents an adapted Mehari on caterpillars, illustrating the creativity and technical adaptations around this mythical model. These vehicles demonstrate the ingenuity and popular attachment to the 2 CV, an accessible mobility symbol.

The museum is part of a historical and geographical setting marked by Lorraine and the Vosges, a region where industry and metallurgical crafts have long played a central role. The old forge that is home to this industrial past, while the road to the Donon Pass, a place of passage and tourism, reinforces its attractiveness for visitors.
