Origin and history
The Musée du terroir de Beaulieu-lès-Loches gathers a varied collection of everyday objects, furniture, tools, clothes and antique weapons. These pieces illustrate local traditions and practices, providing concrete evidence of past life in the region. The diversity of artifacts makes it possible to understand the evolution of the lifestyles and craftsmanship of this territory.
The collection was initiated at the beginning of the 20th century by Jacques-Marie Rougé, founder of this museum. It also includes archaeological objects, enriching the historic dimension of the site. The museum, labeled Musée de France, is part of a process of preserving and valuing the local material and intangible heritage.
Located in Loches (administrative address), the museum enjoys a geographical location marked by medium accuracy (level 5/10 depending on the sources). Its integration into the museum network of the city of Loches strengthens its territorial anchor and accessibility to the public, while emphasizing its role in the conservation of municipal collections.
