Origin and history
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Jonquière church of Lisle-sur-Tarn is a Catholic building built between the 13th and 14th centuries. Located in the Tarn department, it was listed as a historic monument on July 12, 1886, recognizing its heritage value. Its architecture and history reflect the religious importance of the region during this medieval period.
In 1992, the choir's paintings were completely renovated, highlighting the attention paid to preserving its artistic heritage. In 2009, on the occasion of the 780th anniversary of the foundation of Lisle-sur-Tarn, the local association Lisle je t'aime organized a guided visit of the church, highlighting its role in the history of the municipality.
Available sources, although limited, indicate that the church is located at 5 Church Square, and belongs to the municipality. Its classification as a historic monument in 1886 makes it a key element of local heritage, protected and valued over the centuries.
