Origin and history
The Oratory of Saint-Exupère, located in Blagnac in Occitanie, is a historical monument dating back to the 15th century, with notable modifications in the 19th century. This place of worship is distinguished by its Gothic architecture, including a rectangular nave covered with cross-sections of warheads, enriched with liernes and thirdons. The ribs of the vault fall on carved clots representing busts of angels with deployed wings, showing remarkable artistic and artisanal know-how for the time.
The chapel, as well as the hangar and the adjoining pit, were classified as Historic Monument by order of 27 March 1922. This classification underlines the heritage importance of the site, now owned by the municipality of Blagnac. Although the sources do not specify its current use, its structure and protected elements suggest a role both religious and community in local history.
The available data indicate an approximate location at 0 Rue Saint-Exupère, with geographical accuracy considered to be satisfactory a priori. The monument is part of a regional context marked by a rich medieval and modern history, where religious buildings often served as gathering points for rural or peri-urban populations, such as Blagnac, near Toulouse.
