Origin and history
The Val-Notre-Dame Oratory is a chapel located in the town of Bezons, Île-de-France, at the corner of Alphonse Cornaille and Berthie streets. Built in the 19th century, it is part of the subdivision of the place called Les Champioux, initiated by Jacques-Honoré Recappé, notary and general advisor of Seine-et-Oise in 1858. Its architecture is distinguished by a hexagonal turret serving as a bell tower, adding a singularity to this religious building.
The Oratory was registered as a historical monument by order of 21 December 1984, thus recognizing its heritage value. This classification protects the entire building, identified under the cadastral reference AB 331. The available sources, such as the Mérimée or Monumentum base, confirm its precise address: rue Alphonse-Cornaille, in Val-d.
The monument was incorporated into an urban context marked by the expansion of the subdivisions in the 19th century, when local notables, such as Recappé, played a key role in spatial planning. Although the details of its current use (visits, cults) are not specified, its status as a historical monument makes it a remarkable element of the architectural and religious heritage of Val-d的Oise.
