Origin and history
Jacques-Boussard de Lardy Park, located in the Essonne department, was created in 1927 by urban architect Joseph Marrast. Its layout is inspired by Italian gardens, characterized by their symmetry and water games. This park reflects the stylistic influences of the time, combining classical aesthetics and urban modernity.
Ranked as a Historic Monument, the park was listed by order on April 7, 1997 for its heritage interest. Its landscape design and its integration into the urban fabric of Lardy make it a notable example of garden art at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, it belongs to the municipality and remains an emblematic place of the city.
The available coordinates place the park near Jean Michelez Street, although the accuracy of its location is considered mediocre (note 5/10). The sources, including Monumentum and the Mérimée data, confirm his protected status and his architect, Joseph Marrast, known for his work in urban planning and landscape architecture.
