Origin and history
Saint-Pierre de Baudrecourt Church is a Catholic religious building located in the commune of Baudrecourt, Moselle (Great East Region). Built in the 15th century, it illustrates the late Gothic architectural style, characteristic of the last decades of the Middle Ages. Its classification as historic monuments by order of 1 February 1889 bears witness to its recognized heritage value since the end of the 19th century.
The precise location of the church is attested at 1 Rue de la Grotte, in the commune of Baudrecourt (code INSEE 57054). Owned by the commune, it remains a central place in the local landscape, both for its religious role and for its historical importance. Available sources, such as the Merimée base or Wikipedia, confirm its status as a parish church, typical of the medieval villages of Lorraine.
In the 15th century, churches like Saint-Pierre de Baudrecourt served as a spiritual and social heart for rural communities. They housed offices, gatherings and marked the rhythm of daily life, between agricultural work and religious celebrations. Their architecture also reflected local know-how and regional influences, such as late Gothic in Lorraine, mixing tradition and innovations of the late Middle Ages.
