Origin and history

La Petite Ferme is a monument located in the commune of Dourdan, Île-de-France. This building, whose protected element is a main door in the middle of the wall, bears witness to a rural architecture typical of the region. Although little detailed information is available on its history, its listing in the Historical Monuments Inventory in 1977 highlights its local heritage importance.

In Dourdan, as in many communes in Île-de-France, farms and agricultural buildings played a central role in the economic and social life of the population. These structures were used not only for land use, but also for living and gathering places for rural communities. The Petite Ferme is part of this context, reflecting the traditional organisation of rural areas in the region.
