Origin and history

The bridge over the Lison is a building located in the municipality of Cussey-sur-Lison, in the Doubs department, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. Built in 1793, it crossed the Lison on the old road between Cussey-sur-Lison and Lizine, then towards Cléron and Amancey. This bridge, of modest dimensions (19 meters long and 3.30 meters wide), is characterized by its two arches in the middle forming a donkey back, as well as a central pile equipped with a fore-beek prow upstream.

The monument was included in the inventory of historic monuments on 17 July 2003, recognizing its heritage value. It is located downstream of the Moulin du Bas and allows to pass from the left bank to the right bank of the Lison. Owned by the municipality, it is still visible today, although its exact location is estimated as "passible" (level 5/10) according to available sources.
