Origin and history
The Rambolitrain Museum was created in 1984 thanks to the gift of Jacques Visbecq, who offered his personal collection of 4,000 toy trains and models. This legacy led to the immediate opening of the museum, specialized in the history of the miniature train and reduced railway networks, with pieces dating from 1880 to 1950.
The museum is distinguished by its 400 metres of tracks that reconstruct the evolution of the railway, combining old toy trains, functional reduced models and large-scale steam locomotives. It is labeled Musée de France and remains a national reference for enthusiasts of railway modeling.
Located in Rambouillet (Yvelines), the museum enjoys a central location in Île-de-France, although its geographical accuracy is considered poor (note of 5/10). His official address, 4 place Jeanne d'Arc, is confirmed by Museofile bases and GPS coordinates. The site also offers interactive animations and rail networks.
