Origin and history
The church Saint-Denis de Loubers, located in the eponymous village of Occitanie, is a religious building built between the 15th and 16th centuries. It is characterized by a single nave flanked by two side chapels, vaulted on a cross-dogives whose impact on the pillars is marked by penetrating warheads. The choir, finished with a flat bedside, is countered by two diagonal foothills, vestiges of its fortified church past, a defensive function frequent in medieval and renaissant countryside.
Classified as a Historical Monument by decree of 16 June 1978, this church illustrates the rural religious architecture of the period. Its flat and vaulted bedside, typical of fortified buildings, bears witness to the local adaptations to the conflicts or insecurities of the period. The property of the commune, it retains structural elements such as the dogwives and the foothills, reflecting both a late Gothic heritage and the influences of the first Renaissance.
Available sources, including the Merimée and Monumentum Base, highlight its listing as Historic Monuments for its heritage interest. Although its exact location is approximate (accuracy noted 5/10), the administrative address is located in the heart of the village of Loubers, in the department of Tarn. No information is provided on its current accessibility (visits, rentals) or its contemporary non-cult use.
