Origin and history

The church of Saint-Tugdual de Pabu is a religious monument located in Pabu, Brittany. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This place of worship bears the name of Tugdual, Saint Breton founder of the bishopric of Tréguier in the sixth century, although this link is not explicitly confirmed for this building.

Parish churches like Pabu played a central role in the lives of Breton communities. They served not only as a place of prayer, but also as a gathering point for social and religious events. In Brittany, these buildings often reflect architecture influenced by local traditions and available materials, such as granite or shale.

Their presence attests to the importance of the Christian faith in the organization of villages since the Middle Ages.
