Origin and history

The Protestant temple of Boulogne-Billancourt is a place of worship located at 117 rue du Château, in the town of Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine). It belongs to the parish of the United Protestant Church of France. Its architecture combines cut stone and red brick, with a triangular pediment surmounted by a bare cross. Inside, the communion table is placed before a pulpit to be preached adorned with a Huguenote cross, while the woodwork bears the inscription "Glory to God • Peace among men", reference to the Gospel according to Luke and to the principles of Protestantism.

Inaugurated in 1898, the temple initially depended on the Reformed Church of France. Its sober architecture and symbolic elements, such as the Huguenote Cross, reflect the values of Protestantism. The three curved bays illuminating the nave and the inner arrangement centered on the pulpit highlight its role as a place of preaching and community gathering.

The temple is part of the history of Protestantism in Île-de-France, a region where this confession has played a significant role since the Reformation. Its affiliation with the United Protestant Church of France, which emerged from the merger of several Protestant currents in 2013, is a testament to the institutional evolution of this community. The building, referenced in the bases Mérimée and Clochers de France, remains an active place of worship and parish life.
