Origin and history

The Tour de l'Horloge de La Roquebrussanne, classified as a Historical Monument, dates from the 17th century. From a square plane, it is distinguished by its vaulted clock chamber in the upper part, accessible via a turret leading to the campanile. The latter, of cosmological type, presents a cylindrical base adorned with volutes faced and ringings, surmounted by a dome and a solar sphere crowned by a flowered cross.

The building, located Place de la Fontaine, was fully registered by order of 23 June 2014. A communal property, it embodies the Provencal religious and civil architecture of its time, mixing utility function (measurement of time) and astronomical symbolism. Its location in the heart of the village reflects its central role in the daily and spiritual life of the community.

Available sources, including Monumentum, highlight its heritage value, while noting an average location accuracy (level 5/10). The tower thus illustrates the Provencal Baroque heritage, marked by the integration of decorative and technical elements in public buildings.
