Origin and history
The Forge estate garden extends over a peninsula formed by a bief and a leak canal, remains of an old industrial site. This place has been transformed into a landscaped complex combining gardens, groves and walks, typical of 18th and 19th century developments. The space includes an English-style park, an octagonal billiard hall, and a small garden pavilion, both built of Euville cut stone and covered with slate pepper roofs.
The protected elements of the garden include the metal bridge, the bief and the leak canal, the island with its two pavilions, and a bridge upstream. These components, located on a plan annexed to the registration order, demonstrate the harmonious integration between industrial heritage and landscape art. The site was listed as a Historic Monument by order of May 7, 2015, highlighting its heritage and historical value.
The exact address of the estate is 5 Route de Pont à Boncourt-sur-Meuse (Meuse), in the former Lorraine region, now integrated in the Great East. The GPS location of the site is considered satisfactory (note 7/10), allowing a clear identification of the monument. No information is available on its current accessibility (visits, rental, accommodation) or on any services offered on site.
