Origin and history

Miannay Manor House, located in the municipality of the same name in the Hauts-de-France region (former Picardie), is a historical monument dating back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. It consists of two perpendicular wings, reflecting distinct construction phases. The oldest wing, bordering the road, is entirely built of brick and has a gable framed by two turrets with murderers, characteristic of Renaissance defensive architectures. These elements suggest a function both residential and protective, typical of the rural manors of the era.

The wing in return for square includes two buildings with contrasting styles. The first, older, is articulated with a second added in the eighteenth century, recognizable to its apparatus alternating brick and stone beds. This material evolution illustrates the aesthetic and technical changes that occurred between the 16th and 18th centuries, from a purely brick construction to a mixture of more adorned materials. The dovecote, mentioned among the protected remains, recalls the symbolic and economic importance of this type of annex in seigneurial or affluent domains.

Ranked Historic Monument by order of 16 February 1988, all remaining remains of the manor house and its dovecote (Cadastre B 695) enjoy heritage protection. This listing highlights the architectural and historical value of the site, although its exact location is considered "a priori satisfactory" (note 6/10) based on available data. Approximate address, 20 Rue du Manoir, and code Insee 80546 confirm its anchoring in the Somme department, near Amiens.
