Origin and history
The remains of Bonneval fortifications are a historical monument located in the municipality of Bonneval, in the region Centre-Val de Loire. These fortifications, dating back to the Middle Ages, bear witness to the strategic importance of the city at that time. Their presence suggests a past marked by defensive concerns, typical of medieval cities.
In the Middle Ages, fortifications played a central role in protecting local populations from invasions or conflicts. Bonneval, like many cities in the Centre-Val de Loire region, was probably organized around these defensive structures. These remains, although partially preserved, recall the social and military organization of the time, where ramparts and towers provided security for the inhabitants and local economic activities.
