Origin and history
The Gagere villa, located in Bort-l'Étang in Puy-de-Dôme, was rebuilt in 1838 according to plans of architect Aymon Mallay. It replaces an older building and embodies a homogeneous example of the neo-classical style, typical of the first half of the 19th century. Its common, more sober, highlight the main body of the building, highlighting its architectural elegance.
Classified Historical Monument by decree of 15 September 1993, this villa represents an important testimony of the history of art in Auvergne. Its architecture reflects the tastes of the local bourgeoisie of the time, while its preservation offers an overview of the constructive and aesthetic practices of the 19th century in the region.
Available sources, including Monumentum, confirm its inscription under the title of Historical Monuments, including both the villa and its outbuildings (cadastre A 1185). The precise address, 4 Route des Tuileries, and its Insee code (63045) clearly place it in the department of Puy-de-Dôme, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
