Origin and history

The Villa des Avenues is a property built in the late 18th century and renovated in the 19th century, located in Attichy, Oise department, in the Hauts-de-France region. It embodies the provincial bourgeois architecture of the period, with a main house, stable, orangery, greenhouse and garden adorned with four bicentennial plane trees. Its neoclassical style, visible in the peristyle forebody and triangular pediment, reflects the refined taste of its owners.

The whole, little modified since its construction, was inscribed in historical monuments by order of 23 September 2003. This protection covers the house, the facades and roofs of the outbuildings, the garden and the fence walls, including the gate on the Esplanade des Avenues. The villa illustrates the lifestyle of 19th-century provincial notability, combining residential comfort and architectural prestige.

The park, with its plane trees aged from 250 to 300 years, and the commons ( stables, greenhouses) bear witness to a landscaped and functional design typical of bourgeois secondary residences. The rear elevation of the house, marked by pilasters, columns and a ramp in ironwork, highlights the finesse of interior and exterior decorations. The official address, 1 rue de la Rivière, confirms its anchoring in the urban fabric of Attichy.

Although the sources do not mention historical characters related to the villa, its architecture and state of conservation make it an example of the private heritage of Hauts-de-France. The accuracy of its location is estimated at 6/10, indicating a priori satisfactory but perfectable location.
