Origin and history

The villa Les Jeannettes, located in Châtel-Guyon in Puy-de-Dôme, was built in 1908 according to the plans of architect Louis Raynaud. This building illustrates a bold architectural synthesis, combining picturesque eclectic elements (neo-gothic, neo-roman, Art Nouveau) with a rationalistic approach marked by the diversity of materials used. Regionalism, influenced by the seaside vocation of the city, completed this unique stylistic fusion for the time.

Classified as a Historical Monument, the villa is fully protected, including its interiors (cutlery, fireplaces) and its fence walls with their gates. This protection was formalized by a registration order dated 12 February 2002. The precise address, 22 rue Lacroix, and its urban environment reflect the heritage importance of this place, emblematic of the thermal architecture of the early 20th century in Auvergne.

The architect Louis Raynaud, project manager, designed a building that bears witness to the artistic currents of his time, while integrating local specificities. The villa is part of the seaside landscape of Châtel-Guyon, a renowned spa, where architecture plays a key role in the attractiveness and identity of the city. Its eclectic style and rigorous conservation make it a remarkable heritage of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
