Origin and history

Villa Myosotis, located in Dunkirk, Hauts-de-France, is a bourgeois villa built during the last quarter of the 19th century. It already appears on the cadastral plan of 1894, which makes it possible to date precisely its construction. Its architectural style reflects the influences of the time, combining elegance and functionality for an easy residence.

According to historical records, this villa was designed by architect Arthur Gontier. This project would have earned him a first prize of honour at the Paris architectural competition in 1900, thus highlighting the exceptional quality of its realization. This award reflects the recognition of his talent and the importance of this monument in the local architectural landscape.

Villa Myosotis has been partially protected under the Historic Monuments since 29 July 1985. The registration order specifically covers facades, roofs and the entrance gate, characteristic elements of its architectural identity. These protections are designed to preserve the authenticity and charm of this iconic late 19th century residence.
