Origin and history
G. Brulé is a historic monument located in Amiens, in the Hauts-de-France region. This industrial site, whose facades, roofs and chimneys have been protected, bears witness to the city's past economic activity. The inscription by decree of 5 October 2020 also covers the remains of the former church of Saint Sulpice, adjacent to the site, highlighting the superposition of industrial and religious uses in this area.
The former vinegar factory, associated with the former Benoît site, illustrates the urban and architectural evolution of Amiens over the centuries. The protected elements, such as the fireplace, recall the importance of local industries, while the walls of the Saint Sulpice church evoke the religious heritage that is now gone. The site, partly communal and private property, remains a marker of the industrial and social history of the city.
The approximate location, at 178 Rue Saint-Leu, places this monument in a historic district of Amiens, where are mixed artisanal heritage and urban transformations. Although the practical information on visits is not specified, its recent listing makes it a place of interest for the preservation of regional heritage. The cartographic accuracy, noted as poor, reflects the documentation challenges for some industrial sites converted or in waste.
